C Programming Mastery: Pointers, Memory & Data Structures

Aug 29, 2026 0 views 1 min read

1. Pointers & Dynamic Memory Allocation

Pointer stores the memory address of another variable. Operators: & (Address-of), * (Dereference).

int x = 10;
int *ptr = &x;
printf("Value: %d, Address: %p
", *ptr, ptr);

2. Dynamic Allocation Functions

  • malloc(size_t size): Allocates uninitialized memory.
  • calloc(num, size): Allocates memory and initializes all bytes to 0.
  • free(ptr): Releases allocated memory to prevent memory leaks.
